    MinMax Software Engineer Earns Drone Pilot License to Support MinMax eSMART Aerial Inspection Module

    Software Engineer Kamran Ramsey earned his FAA Part 107 drone pilot license as part of his work on the MinMax eSMART Aerial Inspection Module — pairing hands-on flight experience with the aerial inspection workflows he helps build.

    MinMax Technologies is proud to recognize Kamran Ramsey, Software Engineer, for earning his drone pilot license as part of his continued work supporting the MinMax eSMART Aerial Inspection Module.

    Kamran has played an important role in the design and development of the aerial inspection workflow within MinMax eSMART. In January 2026, he traveled to People’s Electric Cooperative to gain firsthand experience with drone inspections, better understand field workflows, and see how drone-captured data could be seamlessly incorporated into the MinMax eSMART system.

    That experience helped guide the design of MinMax eSMART’s Aerial Inspection Module, which allows utilities to connect drone inspection data directly to their existing asset inspection process. By seeing the process in action, Kamran was able to better understand the needs of field crews, drone pilots, and utility teams using MinMax eSMART in real-world environments.

    As part of his continued commitment to supporting MinMax customers, Kamran went on to earn his FAA Part 107 drone pilot license. This certification allows him to further assist with customer support, product demonstrations, and trade show presentations involving MinMax eSMART’s drone inspection capabilities.

    “When starting from square one to becoming a drone pilot, there are two parts to it: learning how to fly the drone and understanding the rules,” Kamran said. “Flying a drone is simple, but getting comfortable and skilled with it takes practice.”

    Kamran’s technical knowledge, combined with his hands-on drone experience, strengthens MinMax’s ability to support utilities as they modernize inspection programs and explore aerial inspection workflows. His work reflects MinMax’s ongoing commitment to building practical, field-focused solutions that help electric utilities improve efficiency, safety, and data accuracy.

    With the continued growth of drone technology in the utility industry, MinMax is excited to have team members like Kamran who are not only developing the software, but also gaining the real-world expertise needed to support customers from the field to the system.
